The Corporate Social Responsibility team has a long-term action plan that focuses its social innovation on the “RIU Method”, a work methodology based on three main scopes: children, local community and biodiversity.

Our method of social innovation, unique in the sector, includes reports, internal interviews, meetings with stakeholders and field visits. An intense research work that identifies social and environmental deficiencies in the communities nearby the hotels and guides our social investment where it is most needed.

Over the course of the year, we have shown that various waste items can be reused or turned into something useful through two important events that take place at the hotel: The Sustainable Market on 5th June to mark World Environment Day, and the Pequeño Valiente fundraising market that we hold every Christmas.”
